Coloring Tutorials by Kathisofy Coloring Tutorials by Kathisofy

Whoa! You can now hear what I sound like. Hmmm... I bet you didnt expect that one. I have such a crusty, small voice. Not good for dubbing.

If you have any questions leave comments here or there and you may even suggest a drawing/coloring tutorial for me to do. Thanks again, enjoy.

Ah, so that is how you achieve your watercolor look. This was a very good tutorial -- very easy to understand. :3 Thanks so much!

Oh, wow. That was so helpful. Maybe now I'll have the guts to try and use my tablet for colouring instead of a mouse. :giggle:

Thanks Karny, I always did wonder how you coloured so uniquely!

Gee, I definitelly need to draw more with Photoshop and advance my skills.
But somehow I prefer Flash for my comics, don't know why...

Holy SHIT! All those times of having to trace over scanned linearts if I wanted to colour them when I could have just changed the mode to multiply and coloured normally. Wow I'm so stupid. >,< Thanks a whole bunch for posting these tutorials they really helped to clear that up for me, and gave some other great advice as well!

Snap... I just found out you don't even need to use multiply either - just unlocking is all I needed to do!
Thanks so much again! By the way, what does setting the layer to multiply do then?

I've solved my own problem... you DO need to multiply, and that's what keeps the lineart intact and puts the colours behind it perfectly, right? Sorry for spamming this deviation, I just got really excited. ^^; Thanks again, I'll shut up now. 8D

It's not spam at all. I love to hear your questions. Multiply makes it so the colored layers below show through. Yeah. Just come back if you want any advice.

Hey, just so you know, if you right click the background layer and choose "Layer from background", it converts it to an editable layer. I noticed you copied and deleted to edit it in that video. At least, that works in CS3, I dunno about the one you have, but it shouldn't be that drastically different.

It's a nice tutorial, for those who work in that way. I don't do so much art like that, but I wish I could.

I've always wondered why your art looks so good, but then you said it takes you like an hour to make the base coloring and I though, no wonder, you spend so long on everything and that's why it's good.

Oh and I think you have a nice voice. It probably just sounds weird to you since it sound different from what you hear normally. The sound comes from inside your head instead of into your ears. Just think how I feel though, being deaf in one ear. When I hear myself recorded, it's pretty confusing.

Well, if you have "Stylus" mode up in the brush dynamics you could do it easily.
